PH launch with LinkedIn Ad Campaign

Hey, I'm still a bit inexperience on the PH launch front and was wondering if anyone has experience in running a PH launch with an ad campaign (e.g. on LinkedIn), that is directed towards the PH product page. Is that a common practice or is it totally a waste of funds?
