Paper instructions suck 😭

Is it just me? Or do companies just intentionally add a bunch of useless paper instructions that most people throw away? I get it, there are some legal mumbo jumbo to include, like warranty claims and country-specific languages. But why the f*** are we killing thousands of trees to print instructions, that people will either: A) throw away right after one-time use, or B) stick in a junk drawer never to see the light of day again.
