I want to understand if open banking can spur the development in a true financial superapp which becomes the go-to hub for all financial matters of an individual

I am really longing for such tool as well! I am not from financial background so it is overwhelming to me to thru numbers at times. Yet I need to do so as startup founder. Would love to see the communities suggestions to this!

Is mentioning Wechat/Alipay too low as far as low hanging fruit goes? It's hard to get more "super app" than those in pretty much any conceivable way. The caveat of course is that everything that enables the duopoly to have such market share and widespread use can be traced back to authoritarianism and the lack of private property, consumer credit, or the rule of law. So, they exist in spite of the nonexistence of open banking, not because of it. Obviously, without state approval these apps wouldn't exist at all. The apps don't even have open apis since one would need to apply for and pay for api access, but since even registering a domain requires approval from the local police precinct, all involved are pretty clear eyed about the whole situation.

I see it happening in the Western world with governmental intervention only. There is too much power in one hand with a super app. Yet, Elon might prove me wrong
