It's been a good 6 months since AI/ChatGPT has taken over the internet by storm, but I feel that the hype is finally getting settled What do you think? Is the hype finally over or Is this just the beginning

I wouldn't say it's over(and it shouldn't be). Rather people have started building meaningful things using AI, not just some toy apps.

IMO It will keep on accelerating

@sankeerth_julapally I've always been pro tech. but honestly this time, I'm not sure how hopeful that is. I'm mostly concerned about the deep social impact this will have you our society. I'm wishing for a positive one, but I can't dismiss the potential for negative impacts...

It's definitely not:) but the hype is not as hysterical as it's been for the last few months. Through my eye, it's become more serious and selective.

@anatoly5ms yup, seems like the initial noise has settled & people are more into serious stuff now

AI's hype is settling, but its impact is just beginning! People are now building meaningful applications. Let's stay mindful of the social implications and embrace AI's transformative journey with optimism! 🚀

@sanskarix I love this! While the initial hype has started to die down, I think the interest in AI is still strong and the impact will only grow exponentially in these upcoming years. Also agree with what you said about staying optimistic - we just need to make sure we understand the ethical implications of AI. I've been seeing some great applications out there

The fear mongering hype of casual AI is over I guess. Now we are looking at the refined projects that are actually building meaningful things. 🎯

I wouldn't say it's over, rather, we are learning more about it and becoming more selective. We're realizing that as cool as AI is, we don't actually need it for EVERYTHING so we'd rather spend our energy and attention on something that is actually useful.

@heleana makes sense, we now know what tasks AI is super efficient ,like ChatGPT for paraphrasing etc
