The debate between the value of marketing/influence versus skill/talent is multifaceted.. What do you think is the most important?

I'd say if you're good at marketing, you can sell even garbage, but the problem is that people will eventually understand it and you won't be able to keep generating revenue from your product or your work. Marketing can bring you traffic, but it can't keep people on your platform if it's unusable, doesn't encourage engagement and doesn't address their issues. On the other hand, if you're exceptionally talented but completely inept in marketing, no one will even learn about your product. There are dozens of new products launched on Product Hunt every day and many more all over the world. You need to find a way to make yours stand out. I think nowadays it's just challenging to work with only one of these two skills. It's hard, but you need both 🤷‍♀️

I'd like to think that marketing is a skill, and a hard one to master at that.
