Is it ever too late to learn coding from scratch if you have to build your app?

Recently, we built an app idea and created mockups for the same. However we always knew that none of us(team members) knew even a single bit of coding.
Should as individuals we start learning coding and become great at it and then build our app or just drop the idea fully?
Please let me know what you suggest!
P.S someone told us to simply just drop the idea because we are not meant for it(since we don’t know how to code.)

It's never too late to learn anything.
Learning is important to grow.
So start learning now and build your app.

It's never too late to learn to code. Even if you have dedicated developers, it's always better if you clearly understand what they are doing.
Of course, keep in mind that building a production-ready app requires knowledge and practice, so it will take time to learn everything from scratch. Just be patient!
If the app idea is simple, it might be worth considering a no-code tool as well!
