Occasionally, we face a dilemma where I question whether I should invest in creating an exceptionally impressive user interface for a website or if it's acceptable to opt for a simpler design. I'm curious to know your perspective on this matter. Do you believe it's better to prioritize premium websites or is a straightforward website that effectively communicates information through a no-code tool also satisfactory? PS I am not very good in design ?

I'd say prioritize big problems. If you are solving a big problem and have a great solution, a smaller or less well designed website won't be a problem. Check doordashe's first website, or airbnb's, they were all horrible, and yet, you know the companies nowadays because of their amazing success.

The average attention span of a website visitor (and by extension website retention) is constantly shrinking. In that regard, a good elaborate and impressive design may win you some valuable seconds as it will likely attract the visitor to stay and read your pitch. Having said that, without good content, you may not be able to capitalize on this. As previously mentioned by other member, you need to be able to show clearly the solution you are providing to an existing problem. If you can not follow up on the design with attractive content, then regretfully web design will not be enough to carry you through.

Absolutely! A minimalist website design can be a great choice for launching new products. It allows the product to be the focus, without any distractions or clutter.

We surely did, and in a month we're getting 200 to 300 organic views per day. It's still a bit painful, because Google still haven't really picked up and is only giving us a handful of organic search clicks per day, but at least it is increasing ... Check it out here ==> https://ainiro.io/

In my opinion, a minimalist website design is not only acceptable but can also be highly effective when launching new products. It helps to keep the focus on the product itself, making it easier for potential customers to understand and appreciate its features and benefits.

I would go for simple UI. Get your essential communication out and collect feedback. Once feedback is collected, use that in your new design to talk to the right people with right messaging.

Yeah, I'd say it's ok. I've seen unicorns launch their v1 website with just a tagline and an IG photo and was the landing page all the way to series D. Also, some would say Craigslist is stuck in web 1.0, but it's still driving near a $b in rev annually. I think at the end of the day, speed and UX trump visual designs.

Absolutely acceptable. Your objective is to get users for your product, not to win a website design contest, right?

Remember the main job of a website is to help you convert visitors into users and buyers. Overdoing a website sometimes is even detrimental if you are diverting resources and focus from your core offering. As some people said, focusing on the product, a minimalist, well-crafted website is more than enough for launching a new product. Make sure you can measure website conversion so then you can make data-driven decisions about investing more in it.

when you say minimalist - this is what we did - Start with a single page which serves two important functions - share messaging and collect interest. You are going get your first set of customers outside your website. So dont spend time getting an extensive website up (form SEO POV). Once you do have a product, that enables you to have a fruitful discussion about the use-cases with your customers or serve the product right out of the box, then focus on website UX, SEO, Content. Btw when you say a minimalist website - the definition has changed a lot. Today there are lot of templates available n wordpress, wix which can set you up for a simple site which doesnt feel/look novice. All the best and do check docustack.ai . we are still building it.
Certainly! When launching new products, opting for a minimalist website design can be an excellent decision. By eliminating distractions and clutter, such a design places the product at the forefront, enabling it to capture maximum attention. ✌️

Yes, it is acceptable to choose a minimalist website design when launching new products. In fact, many successful websites have adopted a minimalist design approach because it can be effective in presenting information in a clear and concise manner. A minimalist design can help to focus the user's attention on the key features and benefits of your product. It can also make your website load faster, which can be important for user experience and search engine optimization.

Perfectly acceptable to have a minimalist approach. There is just so much noise around us, that the sooner you can get to the point, the higher the Karma points you get.

Going for a minimalist style in web design is not just okay, but it can really help with launching new products. It makes sure that the focus stays on the product itself, so it's easier for potential customers to get and appreciate what it offers.

Minimalism is a trend everywhere from websites to wardrobes, interiors to interactions nowadays. Keeping it simple and stylish. Less is more, clutter is bad.

The most important factor here is user-friendliness. If your website looks stunningly gorgeous but makes an user struggle with navigation, it is not good. So, the focus should be on having a decent design with simple usability options. Hope this thought helps.
