I'm building an AI astrology oracle for the Indian market — roast my idea before I launch
Okay so this is either a really good idea or a really embarrassing one. Genuinely can't tell anymore.
I've been building an AI-powered astrology oracle for the past few months. Not the vague "you're a Scorpio, you feel deeply" kind. Something that actually goes deep — combining 5 different astrological systems plus Tarot into one coherent reading.
The target market is India. Which sounds niche until you realise astrology is genuinely woven into daily life here in a way that's hard to explain if you haven't seen it. People check their chart before job interviews. Before weddings. Before naming their kids. It's not a personality quirk — it's infrastructure.
The problem I kept running into with existing apps: they're all surface level. Co-Star and Nebula are built for Western sun sign astrology. The Indian apps are mostly outdated UI with live astrologer chat (expensive, inconsistent). Nobody has actually applied serious AI reasoning to the depth of Vedic and KP systems.
So that's the gap I'm going after.
I'm about to soft launch and I'm genuinely nervous. So before I do — I'd love the PH community's honest take:
Does this sound like a real product to you, or am I building for a market that doesn't want an app for this?

Love how you're blending multiple systems for deeper readings tailored to India...sounds like it could fill a real gap for daily decision-making! If you're up for it, I'm launching on PH soon...would appreciate a follow (See "PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH" Link in my profile) for The Sponge, my AI-powered flashcard app that turns any webpage into study material.
@rianbrob Thanks Rian, that means a lot! Just followed and will go check out The Sponge — turning any webpage into study material is such a clean idea, especially for anyone learning something new and constantly switching between articles and notes.
Will keep an eye out for your launch day. Good luck with it 🚀
