How to engineer marketing?

I know many of us are engineers/techies by heart. We also must realize how critical the skill of marketing your idea is to get the word out. While I fully realize this I've yet to feel really successful in this area. Has anyone found a pattern of how to really engineer marketing? Make it more science and less art? I would love to hear your approach.

Think of engineering marketing as building a sturdy bridge between your product and your audience. Here's the simplified version: 1. Understand your product or service really well. What does it do, and who needs it? This is your marketing foundation. 2. Just like drawing up plans for a building, create a clear marketing strategy. Set goals, decide where to advertise, and set a budget. 3. Pick the best marketing channels, like social media, emails, or ads, based on where your audience hangs out. 4. Keep your brand message and style the same across all platforms. Consistency builds trust. 5. Be ready to change your strategy when needed, just like engineers adjust to weather conditions. 6. Try different things and see what works best. It's like making sure your project is top-notch. 7. Don't stop once your campaign is live. Check regularly and make it better. 8. Be prepared to handle problems. Have a plan for when things go wrong. 9. Get feedback from your audience and your team. It's a key to marketing and branding. It's important to systematically and carefully connect your product with your customers, which needs good planning, flexibility, and a commitment to getting better over time.
