How to create a Customer Journey Map?

Hey everyone! I think it is important to create a customer journey to optimize websites and landing pages. Do you have any tips on how to do it better?

I've done a few, they are pretty research intensive. 1) Figure out who your customer/s are 2) What are the touch/access points of your service (what sort of funnel do you have) 3) Figure out what awareness level of customer you want to target 4) Based on the awareness level, figure out what messaging they need to be able to go to the next step.

Actually had a very good experience working through FlowMapp template interestingly enough. A defined starting point is super helpful. Am no expert, so my only tip would be to make sure you're thinking from the POV of your visitor, and not about your own end goals per se. Your goals should be met if you can meet whatever the needs of the customer are. What does the journey look like in terms of transforming pains/fears into dreams/goals? If you want more specifics I can recommend some reading!
