How to become a product hunter?

One of the key factors for a successful product launch is finding an excellent hunter to help launch the product.
So, how exactly does one become such a hunter?

In the past yes. But not anymore. Producthunt even recommends not using a hunter in their FAQ. The reason is that when a hunter hunt a product it does not show up in peoples feeds. But it does if you hunt it your self.

@pethron The cobra effect. At somepoint it got out of hand and the hunters controlled everything. Now the power is more evenly distributed and the makers has all the power. Some have figured out how to game that too tho, by making lots of fake makers with lots of followers, adding 10 makers to their launch to get max attention. But not too common so not a problem I guess.

Product hunters in current times are bit AI generated, Yeah! Most of the products I see on PH which are hunted by users are mostly from the people who are exploring for jobs through various job platform. Its kinda simultaneous process where they apply for the startup through Y or linkedIn or whatever.
But my choice of product hunters who I know are bit patient, I respect them when they take time and use it for a week then come back to launch the product as hunt. I can see that why Ai generated product reviews are quick and easy.
1. Probably the hunter is trying to post as many as products or schedule them.
2. He might be worried what if someone else launches while the try and review concept happening.
Best way to save your product is making a draft in your account then... when you come back after using the product, you could decide still if the product is worth to be in PH platform or not. If it is, then go ahead and write down the review. goods & bad about the product in layman terms. because no one is looking for professionalism in here rather, they are seeing the curiosity of hunting products.

I'm new to PH, but from what I've heard, it doesn't matter much anymore.
In past, PH used to show the product to Hunter's followers and notify them. But they don't do it anymore.

It is easy to be a product hunter. Broadly defined, you LAUNCHED the product. Narrowly speaking, you've LAUNCHED enough products and you've gotten high rankings for your products.
However, PH official team does not recommended to find a hunter, considering if you launch yourself you product can show up in people's feed. But if you find a hunter, just cannot make it.
