It may be a basic question but anyone has any idea about how the timing works on product hunt. Is it calculated 24 hours later when you first login or it is calculated on every new day. Recently I lost my 48 days streak on PH because of little global time conversion mistake in PST and IST. what's your POV about this topic?

I think it's based on the last 24 hours. If your last seen was at 12 PM, you won't lose your streak before 11.59 PM of the next day.

This is what google says: Please note that Product Hunt doesn't adjust its time zones automatically, it follows the PT (Pacific Timezone) only.

Losing a streak can be disappointing, but don't be too hard on yourself—it happens! In the context of Product Hunt (PH) streaks, they typically represent the number of consecutive days you've visited or engaged with the platform. The specific timing might vary based on when you first engaged with Product Hunt.

If you lost your 48-day streak, it could be due to missing a day of activity on the platform. Streaks often require daily participation to maintain the count. To rebuild your streak, make sure to engage with Product Hunt regularly, and you'll be back on track in no time. Remember, it's all part of the journey! ðŸš€

@jamesfrank Yes, it is part of journey. One thing that one can implement to tackle this is to create a daily habit of checking out on product hunt on a specific time. Reminders will also works great to ensure that we won't forget.

The same thing just happened to me :-( I wouldn't mind if I didn't log in on one of the days, but I did. So it's obviously got to do with the timezone or something I was not aware of. Really disappointing as I am now back to 2 day streak :-(
