If you already launched it and are beyond just thinking :), so much the better!

I think for a successful start you need 500 or more people

@ixord Is this based on your experience or is it just a feeling you've got?

During the time that I'm on PH, I saw successful launches even without a large number of followers (less than 100). But purely theoretically, the more, the more likely success is.

Question is what you call successfully. I launched App Finder with under 10 and still got >60 upvotes, but to have a chance at app of the day etc. I'll try to get a few 100 for the next launch.

@konrad_sx sorry, yes, I did forget to specify the elusive "success" :) To me, success would (yikes, soon will) mean being at least a serious contender for App of the day.

I think you need an engaged and interested audience, but that audience doesn't have to be following you on PH. They could be following you on other networks too.

@richard_maxwell11a and how do/did you involve those guys? My colleagues and I just started out with a product showcase page on LinkedIn, too, but haven't got an idea on how to successfully mobilize the majority of our product's followers on LN other than via posts there. What about posting links to one's product page in discussions here? Does that work/make sense?
I think number doesn't mean a lot, the important one is how you have an engaged community, and followers that can be interested in your product.

@parilti_erkan did you launch anything yet? If yes, how did you go about engaging the community? Did you try "recruiting" your supporters and followers from outside PH, too?
@bostjan_klajnscak hey, nope we haven't yet. I just try to engage the PH community in both PH itself and Linkedin groups

Please guys cast your votes above, too, so we can try and see the splits after the voting...Thanks!
