I'm trying to keep myself productive by planning out and working on simple tasks that will help me achieve my goals for 2023.

well for three-ish days I won't be, intentionally taking some time off and then from there I will do the same, mark off some simple tasks that will make 2023 easier to hit my goals

I'm actually planning to wind down during the holidays. I will just see what the day brings and spend time doing what I love.

I don’t 😅 It’s been a busy year. Might work on a few passion projects for fun though.
Sanjay Somashekar
@adhamdannaway hope you had a great year while you were busy. Looking forward to hear about your passion projects. Will keep an eye out here in the discussions.

@sanjay_somashekar Thanks, I was mostly working on my UI design book. Definitely a labour of love over the last 1.5 years - https://www.practical-ui.com

Why would you? Holidays are not for being productive.
Sanjay Somashekar
@pawelkadysz my plan was to take off sometime during January, was feeling focussed to work during the holidays. Wanted to learn from folks who are keeping themselves productive at this time.

Movie, coffee, doughnut and craft work. I know it sounds confusing but yeah

@sharon_paunan sounds like a perfect combination of a plan, have a great time!

Sorry, but this feels like an L take. I don't understand why there seems to be such a stigma around giving your body and mind time to rest.
Sanjay Somashekar
@guido_evertzen sorry if the discussion conveys the way you have mentioned. I totally support taking some time off and do nothing at all! I do that at times but not specific to when holidays come in.

During this holiday season, I plan on keeping myself productive and motivated by setting specific goals for myself and breaking them down into smaller, more manageable tasks. This way, I can stay focused on what I need to accomplish and not get overwhelmed. I also try to make time for things that bring me joy and relaxation, like taking a walk outside, practicing mindfulness, or spending time with loved ones. These activities help to keep me balanced and energized, and make it easier for me to stay motivated to get things done. Another strategy that has been helpful for me is setting aside dedicated time for work and taking breaks in between to rest and recharge. This helps me to stay focused and avoid burnout, which is especially important during the busy holiday season. Overall, I find that the key to staying productive and motivated during the holidays is to find a healthy balance between work and rest, and to make time for the things that bring me joy and fulfillment. So, this holiday season, I plan on taking care of myself and being mindful of my own needs as I work towards my goals.

Holiday - it's the best time to thinking what you really want or need.. it's your time) if you know your personal priorities, you still more productive and motivating for longer time
Sanjay Somashekar
@mary_petrykina I totally agree with this perspective and I feel it is important to focus on our personal priorities, work towards achieving them.

Slowly brewing a cup of coffee in the morning puts me into work mode everyday. I use the time brewing to think about my goals and to-dos for the day.
Sanjay Somashekar
@taishiling I don't have a practice like this, but would love to start doing something similar. Have a great holidays!
Rebecca Tany
I just want to follow my heart during the holiday, don't want to plan anything ahead. It's ok to rest, play or even deject if I don't feel good.

I just wanna take some time off , go home , meet my folks and spend the time with them. After the initial couple of days doing the above, I want to plan on setting goals to improve my UI designing skills.

@akash_kumar26 sounds like a great plan, all the best! Have a great time with your family, and a great vacation!

By now, after reading your new replies and tinkering with the play snake game I feel I have a basic understanding of how it works. Looking forward to experimenting more to see how I can make it all work. Thanks a bunch to all of you!

Same as any day. Get up, get to work. If anything, the fact that people go to sleep for 2-3 weeks straight allows you to focus completely, in peace. It's a gift. Merry Christmas :)
