How do you ideate for a side projects?

Do you build a side project to solve your own problem or an ideas you enjoy?
Or there some frameworks you follow?
Would love to know your process of ideation for side projects!

I like to focus on small wins.
In short, creating something that I'm already capable of and that I can start and finish fast.
So I usually use my knowledge, interests, and complexity of the idea as a constraint for ideation.
From there I either try to solve a problem from a group/community I'm already part of (like board gamers for example) or my own problems.

It has to be a mix.
My strategy would be to understand multiple niches better and have a 10000 feet level of understanding on the ecosystem. That also led me into writing at Micro SaaS Ideas - microsaasidea.com and also build a closed community at Micro SaaS HQ microsaashq.com while I build my own other projects.
@gayatri_taley My other SaaS projects are independent of the newsletter and community. However my ZeroToFounder.com is connected to the Newsletter and community.
I build to solve for myself and that usually expands and then more ideas come from that as well.
