Landing my first paying customers on Gumroad was an incredibly exciting experience. To get the word out, I concentrated my efforts on familiar networking channels such as personal contacts and existing social media networks. It took a lot of hard work and dedication to get the ball rolling, but I'll also be honest – it felt great when those first few orders came in! I'm grateful for the early support of friends and family, who showed excitement about what I was creating and showed their enthusiasm by purchasing something from my store. With that initial success giving me a confidence boost, I was able to begin putting energy into creating more products to sell. It's been nothing short of an amazing journey since then!

I believe that giving value in the form of free content helps to build trust in your brand. Once you cement that important step, then, your users will trust you by paying for your paid products.
