With Kevin Roose's NYT article and more and more tweet threads going viral of Bing's chat function getting darker and darker — have they already killed the hype?

When I put my marketing hat on, I'd argue any press is good press. That said, there is definitely going to be a lot of scrutiny on the space.

One of the things that is so genius about OpenAI's move is how they gave themselves high equity upside to the space but remained one layer of abstraction away from criticism.
