YouTube videos can help gain visibility in Google search results by appearing in featured snippets, People Also Ask sections and video results. ✨ Small add-on: When uploading videos for SEO, make sure to utilize Schema markup in the page head element to enhance visibility in search results.

In my experience, yes they do.

Curious how this works. At Hardcover we host a weekly build in public session and I'm thinking if it's worth adding those to our blog. 🤔

I haven't heard of any data that says YouTube videos directly improve SEO. However, there are indirect ways it can help. Google tracks how long people stay on your site - a video on the page can increase that time and help improve this value in their algorithm. Basically, it can help reduce your bounce rate. If your video is getting a good number of views on YT, it might start showing up in organic results in the "Videos" section of the SERP. That could be a much easier way to rank for a particular keyword than trying to get a text based article enough links to rank. Once someone is watching the video, you can direct them to your site for whatever conversion you're going after. Again, it's indirect, but it could help. Video is more sharable too... so if that video gets shared and has your link, you'll get more direct traffic and hopefully over time, Google will rank your page higher, thinking it's more relevant to serve the users searching. As I noted, I don't have real data, but just some things to think about :)

Not sure if it helps with brands. but youtube videos do show up when users do search. I notice that for relatively niche topic, they surface videos that are not with a huge account, so one potential strategy is to make your video first "searcable" before workin on optimizing for "browsing"... another thing our users have told us is that thanks for our lack of documentation, they actually go to our youtubes to check our resources. so not SEO, but I think it helps a lot with brand images.. another thing that we are thinking of doing is youtube shorts. Realistically, this is the best way to grow youtube. Shorts got pushed about 1-2 times more vs videos. So the game is conversion. convert to your website or to your long-form videos

Yes, they do help improve SEO! Here's how: - Improved search engine rankings: they can help to improve your search engine rankings. When people watch and engage with your videos, YouTube sends signals to Google that your content is high quality and relevant to search queries. - Increased brand awareness: they can also help to increase brand awareness. When people see your videos on YouTube, they are more likely to remember your brand and visit your website.

Including YouTube videos can enhance a blog's SEO by increasing user engagement and diversifying content, but it's essential to optimize video titles, descriptions, and tags for better results.
