Do you think that time zone change is necessary?

With the coming of winter, many countries, especially in Europe, are changing their time zones. While this situation changes the daylight hours of the day, it also affects people's psychology, thus their productivity and mental health. Apart from your company's benefits, do you think a time zone change is necessary? Or does its use cause more harm?

I think it shouldn't be even a topic for discussion. It's being changed due to sanitary reasons, it's not healthy to live unsynchronized with the nature. There is scientifically proven basis for time change, especially in northern most / southern most areas. Because humans, like any other animal, have circadian rhythms that make us sync with the natural daylight cycle. Days get shorter, we get less sun, we need to adjust the time we wake up and go to sleep. I think that incremental 1 hours shift twice a year is not enough, but it's at least something. P.S. In my country we used to have winter/summer time, then we cancelled it, and people could feel the difference. Especially children - you are already hurt enough by the fact that you have to wake up for school, but waking up in the dark and spending first few classes without sun - that's not efficient, it doesn't help studying. Missed hours of lessons for children (from efficiency standpoint) potentially means missed years of human-hours for the economy in future.

@dan_yes Time zone change is no longer applied in my country either. The fact that people have to wake up in the dark hours in the city where I live brings along the problem of not being able to focus and insomnia. Thank you for explaining in detail.

What I want to say that it's not even a 'choice' for many people who live norther(souther - is it a word? I think you got my point) than ~40th degree north/south, we just don't enough sun in here during winter, we need to give our days an extra hour :D

The concept of time zone change is age old and it should go away

@murali_aasaan Most countries think so. However, in countries with large regions, when there is no time change, it can be difficult to wake up in the dark.

Time zone change is necessary, but it is not always easy to follow.
