Do you think AI voices will replace traditional voiceover artists completely?

Definitely, I've tested IBM's Watson text to speech and I was amazed by the quality and real-like voices I could generate and even manipulate by markup how selected text should sound, its speed, and such.

@narasimha_suda Tried it out, that's pretty awesome, I would suggest to put the better sounding voices first, like these female ones which sound really natural: Amber, Aria, Ashley, Elizabeth, Jenny, Monica (not "Monica-female" version), and Sarah.
As for the male ones, only 2 of them sound natural, Brandon and Michel.
The other voices not mentioned are alright, a bit robotic though. :)

I don't think AI will soon replace the performance a person needs to make while doing real voiceover work, as I feel it is special. There is a certain magic that AI won't be able to capture, especially if the voice actors are working in the same room. Or maybe I just don't want it too...
That said I have listened to some dubs of foreign shows that have the flattest voice acting ever. XD
For normal voiceover stuff, reading some text to go over a product demo or promo video.. absolutely will begin to replace humans, and many youtube videos already do this (not my favorite genre of video though)
With everything machine learning related, it is a tool that will enhance human performance, but won't remove it completely (for now)
@joseph_natoli You are right about many points. Certainly, AI voices will not disrupt all industries at once but as you mentioned segments like product demos, and promo videos... will be replaced with AI voices sooner than expected. The thing that I keep saying is that while AI voices may "sound" good, they ALL lack a human soul. They'll likely never have the idiosyncrasies of the way a real human speaks. Yes, you can waste time manually manipulating each word/syllable but really, is that where you want to be spending your valuable time?
Working with a professional voice actor will save you time and money in the long run. And if your goal is to actually connect with human beings, there's nothing that can beat a real human to do so.
Sadly, we've become a generation of "good enough" is good enough, when good enough shouldn't always be good enough.
And why is it that the first big area we're going after with AI is the most human of endeavours - the creative industry? Voice, text, images. We create the society we want to live in by our actions. If we eliminate our humanity from our lives, we'll just be talking to computers instead of real humans if we're not conscious of our actions.
