Do you think AI and no-code will come to the point of completely replacing developers at some point?

Hey everyone :) Just a random thought about the future of software development. We can all see the hype about ChatGPT, all the startups coming up with the new products based on GPT API. Another successful part of the startup industry in the recent years is the No-code platforms, and so, naturally I wonder if we married the two at scale, will it be possible to some day (not sure if any time soon :)) completely replace software developers? It would be interesting to hear community thoughts on this topic.

As with other professions, I think not. Not totally replace, I mean yeah, there is NLP, and semantic analysis cus people have unlimited needs and wants.

I am a marketer and I built an app with no code it is super fast, easy and bugs will be comparatively less than apps created with code

The No-Code tools are used to create very basic client-facing or internal apps. I have worked as a CRM developer and developed many no-code/low-code apps for clients. I think it will replace the developers building these kinds of apps using code with the low or no-code developers (it is a specialization) in the next 10-15 years. The developers who use code will probably need to upskill themselves to be able to work on something bigger.

@ishan_sheikh Yeah I agree but if you see the current state of ChatGPT 4 and the way it can design and write a code based on the sketches it is crazy...
