Do you still send out traditional press releases?

I want to drum up some additional media attention about an upcoming launch and am reaching out to media, but I do wonder, are the traditional releases a thing of the past? How do you drum up PR?

Hmm, I guess it depends on what industry you're in. In my opinion, if the media's audience aligns with yours, then it's a must. Other than that, I'd think twice since it might cost money. Best wishes!
Hi Brenna, we were also planning on reaching out to various media outlest. Im not sure how strong of affect it will have but it seems worth of trying :)

Yes, we do. Sometimes we also use press release syndication platforms such as PR Newswire. It costs about $1500 but sometimes it is worth it. You can include a link and images – brilliant for SEO purposes. We got into some of the biggest media outlets including Yahoo, Forbes, TrendHunter, Gizmodo and etc. Also, worth approaching some journalists yourself and sharing your media kit with them. We did it with our previous launch and we got very good coverage from the media.
