With the origin of the word "inspiration" - It comes from the Latin inspiratus (the past participle of inspirare, ā€œto breathe into, inspireā€) and in English has had the meaning ā€œthe drawing of air into the lungsā€ since the middle of the 16th century. I would not call surfing through Pinterest and Dibbble to be very inspiring.. does it really breath soul into your lungs to do something great? Inspiration should come from your users: their goals, painpoints, frustrations, and happiness. As a designer, it is your job to identify the above and come up with a solution that truly help your users. Use Pinterest and Dribbble as references, but should never be your inspiration.
