👋 to all the Product Hunt community! I am the founder of Codiga (https://www.codiga.io) and I am curious to learn more about the strategy you recommend for developer tools. I followed the traditional playbook (SEO optimization, content marketing, etc) but I am curious to learn more from fellow founders. What are your best strategies to market developer tools? What works and what does not work? Curious to learn the feedback you may have.

Well, there are many things you can do to target developers. Product hunt launch is a must. You can redo a launch in 6 months if you are pushing new features. So I would recommend you make a no frill launch ASAP. Twitter is a good channel to reach out to developers. Twitter offers the option to create a custom audience based on the account url. There are a few ways to create a highly targeted Twitter audience: Extract all together of a GitHub repository Extract all the followers of another Twitter account Quora could be a nice channel. It is overtaking stack overflow for some topics. You can use QApop to leverage quora effectively. If you are interested in discussing your options more in detail you can book a call with my agency: https://www.tetriz.io/

@juli1pb hey Julien 👋 I've spent the last year working specifically in an API company, experimenting with what works and what doesn't work when marketing to developers. my #1 lesson learned? > you can put down your B2B marketing playbook. Traditional B2B marketing techniques do *not* work with developers because they're resistant to anything that looks, sounds, or smells like marketing. some great resources: FWIW I also maintain this collection of marketing, growth, and UX ideas from dev tools like Stripe, Linear, Vercel, and more. out of curiosity -- one year later, what are your key takeaways?
