Any hacks to finding great talent?

I'm looking for a designer to join my team and man, it is hard to find someone with the right mix of skills. We are doing weird experimental internet art projects and the standard methods of getting a job out there aren't bringing in the right candidates. Feels like we need to get more creative in sourcing people and would love any advice on potential strategies I haven't thought of. Help?
