I didn't know what I didn't know the first time last September. My learnings and approach changed vastly. ☝🏼 Be active on Product Hunt every single day. In 164 days since my last launch, I missed one day. ONE! I comment, upvote, follow, leave reviews. I made myself known, and support other hunters and makers so I felt comfortable asking for their support, and boy did they come through! 🫢🏼 🐫 LinkedIn. This was my biggest mistake last launch. I don't consider how much crossover there was. If you follow someone here, connect on LinkedIn. And Twitter for that matter. Most of the support this time originated on LinkedIn. Here are mine just in case. https://linkedin.com/in/mickessex and https://twitter.com/@mick_inLa πŸ€› Choosing your launch week. Hover on Launches in the top nav and click on Coming Soon. These are all the launches for the next 7 days. Product of the Day is a competition. If you don't believe you have the support to stand out, wait for a week when you can. πŸ€ Choosing launch day. Last time we launched on a Wednesday because everyone said that was the best launch day. Not for us, and not that product. This time I chose a Saturday because I felt it was the best day based on the support I knew I could count on. πŸ–πŸΌ Post a new discussion 2-3 times during launch week, and be extra active on commenting. You get this fun colorful little "Launching soon" banner beside your name. That is for your advantage. Use it! πŸ•• Have a cross-channel promo plan. I had 16 total social posts scheduled. 2 posts. 4 platforms. 2 accounts (company and personal) 🌿 As the maker or hunter, prepare for a long day of engagement. I worked a total of 20 hours. On a Saturday! πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« I interacted with 400+ comments, DMs, upvotes, questions, etc. on 7 different platforms. And I'll do it again for launch #4 next quarter.
