My personal network brought me the first clients, and then it was mostly word of mount and references of previous clients.
So, I would recommend building a strange personal brand (with content, case studies, etc.) that helps immensely.

What is the most important feature of an invoicing app for you?

One of the pain points I identified is:
Getting paid on time - the hassle of chasing the late payers one by one. ex: we could help with this thanks to automatic payment reminders.
