Building features that free users ask for will hurt your product plan.

In my software company I spent three months creating a complicated dashboard because many free users kept asking for it. I thought it would get them to finally pay for the service.

When we released the dashboard very few of them actually upgraded. The people who paid us said the new look was too busy and that it made their daily work slower.

Free users want a tool to do everything because they do not want to pay for programs. Customers who pay want your tool to do one thing really well and fast.

We started not paying attention to feature requests unless they came from a customer who was paying. We added a label in our support messages so we could quickly see if a suggestion was linked to money.

We’re Product of The Day! (Almost)!!!

ReSO AI is at #1 right now and we re barely a few hours away from Product Of The Day!

ReSO is a generative engine optimization platform that helps brands show up in AI search results. It s built for founders, CMOs, and growth teams who want to turn buyer intent in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AIO into visibility, citations, and traffic.

If you believe LLMs are reshaping search behaviour in real-time, please support us on Product Hunt. We absolutely value your honest feedback on what works, what feels unclear, and you d like to see next.

Deleting email subscribers will actually increase your total sales.

Year our newsletter list reached forty thousand subscribers but our open rates fell below twelve percent. I was scared to delete anyone because I believed a bigger list automatically meant possible buyers.

I finally made the decision. Removed twelve thousand people who had not opened a single email in six months. Email providers like Gmail monitor how many people ignore your messages to determine if you belong in the spam folder.

The week after the cleanup our open rates went up to twenty eight percent. Importantly our real revenue from the weekly Tuesday broadcast rose by fifteen percent compared to the previous month.

Sending emails to people who never open them hurts your sender reputation. It literally hides your content, from the subscribers who actually want to buy your products.
