Finally launching MixMatch on Monday 30th March

Hi Product Hunt,

Not too sure what to expect on here. I've been working on MixMatch for around a year now, sharing it with a few friends and fellow sound engineers and musicians. I'd be interested to know if there are other sound engineers on here who have difficulty with getting mixes to translate across environments and whether any room emulators have truly solved the problem for you.

For me, I really needed to just take my mixes with me and EQ on the spot, on systems that I actually spend a lot of time listening to music. Quite often people think a track they have worked on sounds wrong simply because their studio in which they mixed or mastered it isn't actually the place where they spend the most amount of time listening to commercial releases.

MixMatch - Make better release decisions about your music

If you're a producer, band or engineer who has ever struggled with getting mixes to translate across devices, then you need MixMatch. EQ on the fly from your car, or anywhere else outside the studio. Apply EQ curves from tracks you like to your own mixes. Collaborate with others on a project and keep track of mix alterations easily, placing alteration requests directly on a timeline. Engage with fans, friends and family and easily canvas their opinion on which mix or song they prefer.

Wanted to throttle our drummer so built an app to save him from me.

As a musician and sound engineer I'm fairly used to everyone under the sun having an opinion on what sounds good and what sounds bad. Some might even say that's one of the joys of music production; writing songs with your friends, playing and recording them, discussing what could be changed. Those people are usually not the ones who have to make the changes and in my experience they usually have very little understanding of the amount of work involved to make those "minor tweaks". But there was also an added layer of joy, because all of this useful feedback was usually spread over a 2 week Whatsapp chat, peppered with multiple different mixes and masters of the same song.

After recovering from a bout of scrolling induced vertigo and telling our drummer that this latest mix does not need reducing by 0.5dB at 5kHz (and I would only do it if he could spell the word "Decibel"), I decided to lock myself away in a padded room and build something that would make my life easier and also save the life of a drummer. He could drum to a click-track and was therefore a rare breed and worth saving.

Audio Engineer - solo building an analysis app

Hi Product Hunt,

I'm a sound engineer and musician based in the UK.

I've joined because I'm thinking of eventually launching a software service on Product Hunt. At the moment I'm building a system that enables musicians, sound engineers and producers to analyse and optimise their music mixes in different environments. I've built it because I needed it myself and it's developed from there. I've had fellow engineers and musicians using it as an unofficial service, but really I want to get broader feedback and then look to roll it out properly. There's a minimum viable version up at www.mix-match.io . There are some bits I still want to add but the main functionality is working. I'll eventually wrap it into a proper app for App Store but for now I've just put it live on that domain. If anyone fancies taking a look and offering feedback or suggestions it's a big help. Happy to user test other platforms for anyone needing it. Thanks!

I built an app because I couldn't decide whether to get divorced

I spent months stuck on major life decisions move to SF? Take a new job? End my marriage? Pros and cons lists just made it worse. So I built Clarified a decision-making app that asks what matters to you, how you want to feel, and gives you a clear answer in 60 seconds. Built by an overthinker, for overthinkers.

Would love feedback from the PH community tryclarified.com
