We have been focusing on enterprise accounts but have found the buying process to be very long and slow...so slow that we're running out of money. Our plan is to pivot our market to SMB to try and close faster. Curious to learn how others here got their first SMB customers.
My biggest takeaway is that Failure is a Redirection. My first Print on Demand store was a big mess and a complete failure. But instead of giving up, I tried looking up Digital Marketing on the whole, back in 2021. That's what helped me pivot towards Copywriting and Content Writing 6 months later. Today, I'm happy I make money as a Writer online. If I had given up after my first startup's failure, I would've just gone back to my boring, miserable life of studying to participate in the rat race.
I m Rosie Sherry and I ve been building communities for quite some time! I m here to answer anything and everything I can about community building. Here are some of the things I ve done: - I started back in 2006 with a local Girl Geek Dinner Meetup
- I founded Ministry of Testing, an indie, 7 figure revenue and profitable community of practice for software testers. I handed this community over for someone else to run (I did not sell it).
- I led the community at Indie Hackers for a couple of years
- I started Indiependent, a small community for indie founders where people get kicked for inactivity
- I ve been writing about community at Rosieland (covering community growth, flywheels, Minimum Viable Communities, Community Discovery, and much more!)
- I breathe, eat, sleep community Ask me anything about community, I can cover things like:
- Tools to use, or not
- Community on a budget
- Community as a business
- Minimum Viable Communities
- Community Discovery
- Community Growth & Flywheels
- Building a sustainable community
- Community trends
- Why so many people are getting community wrong! I'll be answering questions on the 7th of September!
If you didn't see, last night, a lot of Twitter employees chose resignation over committing to Twitter 2.0, Musk's grand vision for a brand new Twitter. Some have started saying Twitter will last maybe a week and there are reports that the offices have been abruptly closed. Do you think Twitter can survive? Personally, I think it will, it will be buggy for a while and the World Cup is going to be wild on it, but ultimately I see it lasting.
There are so many concepts and companies about the Metaverse, but most of them are hype concepts without much practical value. Which scenarios or technologies do you think are meaningful?
With all the great paid AI writing tools out there (+ ChatGPT) how are you dealing with/feeling about risk associated with AI detection/penalty, particularly by Google?
Do you think BARD will take over ChatGPT because it's part of the Google ecosystem and will be integrated and adopted quicker by the mass? Or does ChatGPT already have a considerable headstart?
Italy has become the first western country to ban ChatGPT. The Government has cited privacy concerns as a reason for the ban. Could this be a sign for things to come, not just for ChatGPT but AI as a whole?
Share your thoughts on potential advancements in AI, including new features or abilities that you think would be valuable or interesting, and how they might impact various industries or aspects of daily life.
I love browsing the upcoming launch list. But whenever I do it makes me think of all the apps I would love somebody to build. These are things that I am not capable of building or don't have the time, but need for my business. For example, there are lots of AI bots being launched trained on website data but I wish there was one where I could BYO my own API key and had a low price to cater to small and medium blogs. That's just one idea of many swerling in my head. What are your ideas...? And is the idea of a wishlist that developers could look at and get inspiration from on Product Hunt a good feature wish itself?
