1. The reviews all look like shills (friends of the founders). Golden basically has little to no content compares to wikipedia. (Tried a few topics, all have no articles). I don't understand how you are getting such glowing reviews on product hunt 2. This is ambitious. How are you going to make sure that this is going to turn out differently from Microsoft Encarta. Why would millions of...

Ridesharing has never really worked in a significant way. Personally, when I lived in the suburbs, the cost of driving isn't that high and having to go and pick someone else up is such a hassle.

I would love to see a chrome extension version of this. When the browser fails to connect a site, the chrome extension can immediately check in the background.

This is a pretty heavy handed solution in a world of many many many other apps that do very similar thing. Personally, I found the cognitive overhead of having a new tool often outweighs the marginal benefits of the new tool. With my daily tasks, I have simply gone to a card in Trello and check them off. No, I don't get analytics, but it is also not that big a deal and fits into existing workflow.

Redash is the free and open sourced alternative to all these business intelligence tools. (e.g. Chartio, Mode analytics, Tableau, Periscope.io) This open sourced application has all the bells and whistles you need. It does charting, it can allow you to share data with co-worker by just a link, it runs queries in the background so that you always see the latest data instantly, it even gives you...

There are so many BI tools already. Chartio, looker, mode analytics, Periscope. They all fulfill the same needs (sharing data, charting etc) at different price point. And in the open source land, Redash (https://github.com/EverythingMe/redash) is mature and frankly, extremely good. (And they also do charting) What are the advantages of SlinkyDB over those tools?

The interface is beautiful. Although I am always wary of adding another tools to my workflow. What do you think of integrating with Trello?

Skitch used to be a good product. But their development team must have fallen asleep because skitch's upload is extremely slow and has been for months. Now I use skitch and export it and upload to imgur. I will probably switch to this, when there is annotations.

I am thinking maybe you could use this to write utility gems/modules that don't exist yet. For example, "I want a node.js module that convert camel case to snake case" (This module already exists, just an example)

This is awesome. Definitely a long awaited feature from intercom. So awesome job team intercom. A while ago I was using both Intercom and Zopim (Olark alternative) for customer communication. At the time, Intercom couldn't do live chat. It was just a bit annoying to have customer communication scattered across different service providers. This can finally put an end to that.

This is pretty awesome. Can get a pretty good sense of a broad pictures of what people are trying to do with crypto-currency. There is the usual suspect of wallet/exchanges etc. But there are a lot of projects also trying to use Bitcoin in a more meta way. Like doc verification, proof of existence type projects, embedding data etc

I believe this to have utilities in a lot of business use cases. In Investment Banking / Business Consulting, excel financial models can get to a size that is no longer suitable to be run on personal computers. Of course, analysts are not going to all of sudden learn programming and they are still going to use Excel to do their work. If you could get the UI smooth enough, this could be the...

I see the pain point, although having a dedicated app also seems a bit heavy. I have a crazy idea in the realm of splitting social expenses. I have a bunch of friends in long term relationships have set up joint bank accounts with their SOs. The reason is it is too much work to split expenses (bills/going out etc). So they contribute equally into the joint account. When they go out, they use...
