Building AI Products that Work, -1 to 0
I spend a lot more time on PH at the moment to see what indepedent makers are spending their time on. I've noticed some patterns and also want to share a little bit about my journey at South Park Commons. Most startup stories begin at zero when there s already a team, an idea, maybe even a prototype. But at South Park Commons (SPC), the philosophy is different: people gather in the -1 to 0 stage. That liminal space where you don t yet know what you re building or even if you should build at all. It s a place for exploration, experimentation, and being brutally honest about what s working and what s not.
A hallmark of SPC is how often industry leaders drop by to share what they ve learned in the wild. Recently, I was in a small chat with Tyler Payne former Google and LinkedIn AI lead, startup builder, who has spent the last decade helping teams actually ship real-world ML systems. We're always talking about what's being launched at SPC.
Which business podcast or TED Talk left you feeling inspired about entrepreneurship? + My list
I experience 2 types of inspiration:

External people around me, talks, success stories, etc.
How to prep your Product Hunt content in advance when you're travelling
If you re reading this post, it s at least 2 weeks old. I m currently away, and in situations like this, it s better to be prepared.
Here s my process that helps me stay (somewhat) consistent even when I m short on time and not available in real time:
Batch-create evergreen content that can be shared anytime, or content tied to a recurring season or trend. (If you find time while travelling, you can still jump on current topics, but be aware, it might distract you from the trip.)
Prepare your content at least 2 weeks before your trip.
Create at least 4 extra posts beyond what you need. For example, if I m travelling for 9 days, I ll prepare 13 posts, just in case something goes wrong or unexpected travel issues come up.
Set a fixed time to respond to comments (e.g. 9 AM), or block out a time window for engagement, so you don t get sucked into it during the day.
Keep a running file of content ideas throughout the year, including brainstorming sessions with ChatGPT. It ll make content selection much easier in the future.
How do you communicate daily when your whole team is remote?
I can safely say that working remotely brings a special kind of challenge.
It sounds ideal until no one knows what the others are doing and progress feels... fuzzy.
Is talking about money in business taboo for you?
I ve always wondered how different cultures, companies, or individuals approach financial transparency in business. Some stay silent, others overshare.
Here are some trends I ve noticed:
which industry do you think is the riskiest to start a business, and which is flourishing?
With AI, it seems to be everything possible:
Everybody is a builder, maker, marketer, founder, (vibe)coder/developer.
Finding Your Pride On Product Hunt , a Den of LGBT Makers and Allies
Product Hunt has always felt like a place where underdog founders can try their luck not with VCs, but with a real community of builders. It reminds me of what made the early internet so special: it was a place where fragmented groups could find each other and power up together. For my personal use, as a maker, historically it s been more about supporting my friends' companies when they had launches and now I use it to keep up with the continues rollout of new tools mostly aimed at makers looking to vibe and make faster.
Right now, I feel anxious for America (and the world) feel from political chaos and our economic prospects. Resilience in our community has been a source of strength. LGBT are also natural contrarians to the status quo to such an extent I would say it is even a builder superpower.
