Moving beyond the "constant connection" trap

We live in a digital era where most relationship tools are designed to maximize screen time, often turning intimacy into a task of constant status updates and notifications. I have been thinking deeply about why this cycle of "noisy" communication leads to burnout rather than closeness. I am currently working on Tether, a relationship sanctuary designed to challenge that status quo. Instead of chasing engagement metrics, our focus is on emotional depth and intentionality. We are building a space that respects boundaries, prioritizing quality interactions over the pressure of being available 24/7. Right now, we are deep into our backend architecture. My focus as a product manager has been ensuring that the foundation is stable, private, and high-performance creating the infrastructure necessary to support the meaningful, low-stress experiences we want to bring to busy couples. Building this has been a masterclass in balancing complex technical execution with a clear, human-centric vision. I believe that technology should support our relationships, not compete with them, and that is exactly what we are proving with every sprint. If you are interested in our progress or our philosophy on digital intimacy, you can follow our journey here: https://tether-waitlist-land-rpk... I am always looking to connect with others thinking about the intersection of product design and human behavior let s discuss.
