Should founders launch with a free plan… or charge from day one?

When launching a product, offering a free plan feels like the obvious choice. More users, more feedback, lower friction. But at the same time, charging from day one gives you a completely different signal. People who pay often use the product differently, give different feedback, and help you understand what they truly value.

The challenge is that both approaches seem to make sense.

A free plan can help you grow faster. Charging early can help you validate faster. There probably isn't a universal answer and it depends on the product, the market, and what you're trying to learn first.

💡 What do you do to have better ideas?

What's one thing you do everyday that has nothing to do with your product - but makes you a better founder?

Reading?
Walking?
Talking with people?
Cooking?
Something completely random?

For me, it's collecting information from different spheres.

I feel like the more diverse inputs I get, the richer my neural connections become - and the more interesting ideas and combinations I can create.
Also, walking helps a lot. Some of the best ideas appear when I'm away from the screen and my brain has space to connect the dots.

Which AI tool needs a screenshot auto-loader next?

SlimSnap ships a Claude Code skill that auto-loads your latest screenshot so the agent reads the structured JSON without you pasting anything. That's the "magic" version of the workflow.

For everything else (Cursor, Lovable, bolt.new, Replit AI, claude.ai), the screenshot spec works but you paste the JSON into chat manually. It works, just not as smooth as the Claude Code flow.

Where do you actually paste screenshots into AI tools today? Vote in the comments, ideally with one line on what your screenshot loop looks like there. That tells me which agent gets the next auto-loader.

Don't take this as a date promise. Just trying to figure out which one to start with after the current backlog.
