Hi - I'm the Chief Growth Officer at illio which is my first startup. I previously had a long career in finance and then worked for two large data technology firms where innovation moved slower than a snail on treacle. I was approached to join a fintech startup to help the strategy for product, sales, support and marketing. I have always shied away from startups but was swayed by the founders background and vision. Now, I find myself in a ridiculously fast paced environment, building what we hope to be an invaluable tool for individual investors. If we do succeed, it will be down to the people we have hired. So far, it's going well.

If you could recommend just one book that everyone should read, what would it be?

For me, it will be - Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari. The book has helped me to understand the world a little bit better and make me rethink a lot of topics. Which one is your favorite?
