I built an AI travel companion solo, while working full-time — launching tomorrow 🌍

Hey PH community

Tomorrow I'm launching Triply.now and I wanted to share the story behind it before the big day.

I'm Raquel, a self-taught solo developer based in the Netherlands. I built Triply entirely alone Flutter, Python/Flask, Claude AI, Supabase, Stripe, Vercel, Render. No co-founder, no funding, no team.

The idea came from my friends and my own travel fails. A friend showed up to a temple in Morocco in the wrong outfit. Another one didn't know tipping in Japan is considered rude. I had the wrong adapter in Switzerland and I once brought my hair dryer to Boston and couldn't use it European voltage, American outlets. Triply would have told me that before I packed. These aren't rare every traveler has been there.

Triply.now plans your trip based on who you're traveling with — solo woman, couple, family with kids, first-timer. Beyond itineraries, it tells you the dress code in Morocco, what not to do in Japan, which neighborhoods to avoid at night, visa requirements, plug adapters, and local etiquette. Like having a well-traveled friend in your pocket.

What marketing strategies do you consider unethical, and which ones do you consider brilliant?

During today s standup meeting, an idea came up about improving our presence on Reddit (for LLM search visibility and similar reasons).

One of the suggestions was to look for high-karma accounts and possibly buy them to appear more credible when posting and mentioning the product within the posts/comments. It s a tactic, sure, but to me it already feels like it crosses an ethical line. I sometimes worry they can seriously damage a company s reputation.
