I am living my third tech wave. My first was as a kid with a TRS-80 - learning Z80A Assembler - my second was the dot com boom when I spent three years in New York riding that wave, and my third has come from the world of Web3, where I have learned to not like crypto but love what a decentralised layer can bring to the customer experience. Originally from the UK, I moved to Hong Kong in 1995 and have been here ever since (with the above-mentioned sojourn between 1999 and 2001) in New York City. I started in publishing and moved to work in the nascent ISP industry in 1998, working for Asia Online, Hong Kong's first commercial ISP (non-university). Since then I have worked in content and infrastructure for 25 years.
