Steal this idea: What's a product you wish someone else would build?
Ever had a random idea and thought, Someone should totally build this ? Drop it here.
This thread s for the stuff you don t want to build yourself but really wish existed. Weird, useful, hilarious, oddly specific all fair game.
I want to test my Content Framework on 3 brands for free.
Hey Genius, Building a product is hard. Building a brand that stands out? Even harder. Right now you re pouring your heart into something transformative, but getting it the attention it deserves can feel impossible. As a Content Strategist, I ve spent years helping brands stand out in crowded markets. Now, I m refining my Content Disruption Framework, and I want to test it with 3 brands for free. Here s how it works: - I ll help you uncover untapped cultural gaps or trends that align with your brand. - Then I'll craft a bold, movement-driven content strategy that resonates deeply with your audience. - You ll walk away with a plan to position your brand as a leader not a follower in your space. I'm not here to help you fit into the market, I'm here to help you reshape it. And if you like the strategy, we can work together to execute it. If this sounds like something you d want for your brand, here s what to do: 1. Send me a DM on [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/emma...) with the word Disrupt so I know you re from this thread. 2. Include a quick note about your brand and why you think it s ready to disrupt its niche. I m excited to work together to make your brand unforgettable. Let s do this! Looking forward to hearing from you Friend. Cheers!
Balloon Just Launched 🚀 – Here’s How They Can Dominate the Gut Health Game (Free Strategy Inside!)
This morning, I came across Balloon, a newly launched app on Product Hunt that helps women track their gut health, poop, and fiber intake to prevent constipation. As a Content Marketer, this got my gears turning. Women s gut health is an overlooked conversation, often discussed in clinical or awkward ways. But Balloon has the potential to change that narrative by making gut health relatable, engaging, and community-driven. And they can do that with this idea: #GutAwarenessDay * The Content Gap: Women Don t Prioritize Gut Health Until There s a Problem Most women only think about their gut when they re bloated, constipated, or uncomfortable. There s no cultural moment reminding them to pause and check in until now. * The Opportunity: Create #GutAwarenessDay Balloon can introduce a dedicated day every week to remind women to check in with their gut, making digestive health feel like a shared movement, not just a personal struggle. HOW THIS COULD WORK Relatable, conversational posts on social media like: -> You're feeling bloated because you don't drink enough water. Drink enough water today. #GutAwarenessDay -> Your skin isn t glowing? Might be your gut. Everything starts from within. #GutAwarenessDay Engagement-driven Stories & Tiktoks like: -> Polls: How s your gut feeling today? -> Quizzes: If your gut could talk, what would she say? -> A 24-hour challenge: Drink 8 glasses of water today & tag us" User-Generated Content (UGC) & Influencer Collabs: -> With time Balloon can introduce influencers to hop on #GutAwarenessDay and share their check-ins on the Balloon app. -> Nutritionists & health coaches can also be invited to give quick gut tips using the hashtag. A simple educational landing page with a video or article (to boost SEO) -> Everything You Need to Know About Gut Health Start Here -> Offer a free gut health checklist as a lead magnet. WHY THIS STRATEGY WORKS Gives Balloon a movement to own Not just an app, but a gut health leader Encourages micro-actions Small, gut-friendly habits which can lead to high engagement Easy for users to participate Everyone can check in & share their experience Bonus Idea: Make #GutAwarenessDay a Content Series!
Every Wednesday becomes #GutAwarenessDay, reinforcing consistent gut health awareness with weekly check-ins over time. This kind of content-led movement could set Balloon apart, making gut health a conversation women actively participate in not just something they Google when they feel off. Gut health might not be the sexiest topic, but with the right content strategy, Balloon can make it a conversation women actually want to have. Would love to see Balloon take this on! Shout-out to @gracechi for making this amazing product. Now over to you! What are your thoughts? Would you participate in #GutAwarenessDay? ----- P.S: If you re working on something exciting, drop your startup or latest launch in the comments. Every week, I ll pick one product and develop a free content strategy just like this. No strings attached, just great ideas. And hey if you love talking content, brand storytelling, and marketing that actually makes people care, let s connect. Follow me and connect with me on LinkedIn. I can't wait to chat with you!
Users don't Care About Your Idea
Most startups start with this mindset: "I have an idea for an app / software / business. It helps users achieve ****. It's gonna be the next big thing."
This is wrong, as:
1. it assumes that you already know what users want (no one exactly does). 2. It doesn't consider that users are not patiently waiting for your app/software and may be already using something similar.
Build an audience first, or launch and grow later?
This is probably one of the most debated topics in the startup world: Should you build an audience before you launch, or is it better to launch first and grow your audience afterward? I ve seen both approaches work, but each comes with its own set of challenges and rewards. - Building an audience first means you're creating buzz, validating your idea, and nurturing a community of early adopters who are invested in your success. But it takes time, patience, and a lot of effort to keep the momentum going before you even have a product to show. - Launching first lets you hit the ground running, gather real-world feedback, and iterate quickly. But without an existing audience, you might struggle to get those initial users and traction. So, indulge me: Which approach did you take or are you considering taking (those who haven't launched yet)? - Did you build an audience before launching your product, or did you launch and then focus on growth?
- What worked (or didn't work) for you?
- If you could go back, would you do it differently? Share your story with us so we can all learn from each other. There's someone here who could benefit from your experience. ----- P.S: If you're a growth-stage founder struggling with churn or stagnant customer acquisition (usually because of poor positioning and messaging), I'd love to help. I specialize in crafting impactful marketing strategies tailored specifically to your product so you can start seeing the results you deserve. Connect with me on LinkedIn today. How did you get your first 100 users/customers?
I stumbled across a fascinating Reddit post earlier where a startup founder shared how he landed his first 100 customers entirely through Reddit (and with no ads too). His strategy? He didn t hard-sell his product. Instead, he identified where his ideal audience are already active, joined the conversation naturally, and provided genuine value. It got me thinking there are countless people searching for solutions online every day. Your ideal customers are out there; it s just about knowing where to find them and how to engage them in a way that feels authentic. So, founders, I m curious: What s your first 100 customers/users story? - How did you find them? - What strategy worked for you? - Are you still scaling that approach, or have you pivoted to something new? I d love to hear your journey. Share your story with us, let's learn from each other!
