Do you ever waste more time building productive shortcuts than actually working?

I used to spend hours searching for new apps and setting up quick templates just to save a few minutes on small daily tasks.

It felt like real work, but i was just overcomplicating simple things that didn't matter.

Now if a task only happens once a week, i just do it manually and move on.

When two rounds of client feedback directly contradict each other, who wins?

Ran into this again last week: client note round one says "make it punchier, cut faster." Client note round two, different stakeholder on the same account, says "it feels rushed, let shots breathe." Both notes are sincere, both people signed off on the brief, and now I'm the one holding two opposite instructions with a deadline in between.

My current rule is to go back and ask which note is closer to what gets shown to their boss, because that's usually the real constraint hiding under the feedback. But that only works if there's time to ask.

Our users export data 3 days before they cancel.

We analyzed export events for 1,900 canceled accounts in the 30 days before cancellation.

Exported data within 30 days of canceling: 61%
Exported within 7 days: 38%
Exported within 72 hours: 29%
Exported on the same day as cancellation: 11%

Export was our earliest reliable churn signal, and we had been treating it as a neutral feature. Users were not exporting to migrate. Many were exporting to justify the decision to themselves, or to preserve work they were not sure they could recreate. The export was part of leaving, not a precursor to staying.
