About

Solo founder and engineering student based in India, building B2B SaaS products end to end. No team, no funding, just me writing the code, talking to users, and shipping. I built MarginFlow after watching freelancers and agencies (including myself) quietly lose money to scope creep they never billed for. It reads your contract and connects to Gmail to catch requests that fall outside scope, then drafts the change order email so you don't have to be the one bringing up money. Before this I spent close to a year building Khizar Overseas, a white label CRM for overseas education consultancies, from scratch as a solo developer. Always happy to talk shop with other indie founders, freelancers, or anyone tired of doing unpaid work for demanding clients.

How much money have you lost to scope creep you never billed for?

Genuine question for other agency owners and freelancers here.

I used to just eat it. A client would say "can you also just add this small thing" and I'd say yes because pushing back felt awkward, especially mid project. Add that up over a year and it's real money left on the table. Not a huge invoice you'd notice missing, just a slow leak that quietly eats your margin.

I ended up building something for myself to fix this called MarginFlow. It reads your signed contract and connects to Gmail so it can catch client requests that fall outside scope, then drafts a change order email so you're not the one who has to bring up money. Launching it on Product Hunt soon.

Curious how others here handle this. Do you have a formal process for flagging scope creep before it eats your profit, or is it mostly a gut feeling and hoping the client doesn't push too far? Would love to hear how people actually protect their margin on client work.

MarginFlow - Stop doing unpaid work for scope-creepy clients

MarginFlow reads your signed contract and your Gmail (read-only) to catch client requests that are quietly outside scope — the "can you just also..." emails that eat your margins. It flags them, then drafts a change-order email you can send in one click. Built this after losing count of the hours I gave away for free on client work.

Your agency is doing free work right now. I built a tool that catches it before you do.

For the last few months I've been building MarginFlow solo, no team, no funding.

The problem: every agency owner knows this pattern. A client emails "hey can you also just add X" sounds small, feels rude to push back on, so you just do it. One email. Then five. Then your 40-hour project quietly became 65 hours and nobody billed for the extra 25. By the time you notice, the project's wrapped and it's too late to invoice for it.

What MarginFlow does:

- Connects to Gmail (read-only it never sends anything on your behalf)
