Building a simple Second Brain.

About

Hi, I'm Nabeel, and I'm one person building Ember, a notebook for your Mac with AI built in. I got tired of my notes and my memory living inside other companies' clouds, tied to whatever AI they decide to sell me. So I built Ember to change that. Everything you tell it stays as plain files on your own Mac, you can point it at any AI you want, and it even runs fully offline. Your notes stay yours. I build Ember on my own, most of it late at night. If it helps you, a coffee keeps the lights on and the updates coming. Thank you for being here this early.

Would you take a dumber model that remembers everything?

Every team has access to the same frontier models. Same reasoning, same benchmarks, roughly the same price.
So what's left to compete on?

Not the model. What the model knows about your work your decisions, your customers, the thing you tried six months ago that didn't work, your internal data that is the edge to why you win or lose.

Most AI tools start every conversation from zero. You're the memory layer, and you're expensive.

I think the next wave of AI products won't win on capability. They'll win on how much they remember.

We want to hear from you (good and bad)

Quick context for those new here: Agently is a company brain your agents actually run on. You connect your tools, it builds one shared memory of how your company works, and the agents do the work on top of it. Not a chatbot. Something that compounds.

We're early. Two private cohort betas so far, and we're opened the public beta with our PH launch. The people who matter most to us right now are the ones already inside it.

So if you've tried Agently, come say hi. We wanna know:

  • What's the first thing you handed off to it?

  • What surprised you, good or bad?

  • What's still missing that would make you use it every day?

Ember launches Tuesday. What would it take for you to trust an AI notebook?

Hi, I'm Nabeel, the creator of Ember, a private AI notebook for Mac. Your notes are stored as plain files on your Mac, and you can use AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Google, or a local model that operates fully offline. Teach it a skill once, and it will remember.

The launch is scheduled for this Tuesday. Before we go live, I would love to hear two things from anyone passing by: What would you like an AI notebook to do for you, and what would it take for you to trust one with your notes? Nothing leaves your Mac in Ember, and I want to know if that is sufficient.
