Does one thing and does it well. Pros: Simple, mindful, easy Cons: Nothing so far

I love a product that only ever claims to do one thing, and do it well. Their original product, OmmWriter, has served me well for years as a distraction-free writing environment. It was already deceptively simple: it had a few font options, a few background options, a few audio options, and that was it. With Ommbits, they've gone even further. There are no settings to be found, just a blinking...

OmmWriter is an immersive experience. This means that it helps you focus on your writing and keeps you in the zone. But sometimes we don't want to completely vanish from the world for hours. We just need a small break, a bit of silence to write a line, a concept, or an email.Ommbits by Ommwriter is

That was fast. "We're writing to let you know that as much as we loved making Kiyo, we've run out of time on it, and we'll be shutting it down soon. It’s tough news to share, especially since we heard just how deeply Kiyo resonated with many of you. It's a difficult landscape out there right now, and it was hard for us to find the level of traction and growth that we needed to take Kiyo to the...

My issue with this is mostly on principal. Polaroid stopped making its beloved photo products nearly a decade ago now, shifting to making forgettable consumer electronics. To me this is just a company desperately trying to save itself by spending what's left of it's nostalgia capital on a product that *might* have an appeal to its former fans -- though honestly I think most of them will see...

This is exciting! I love how they've responded to how people are using the device -- like by increasing the audio quality since I know lots of people who use it as an Airplay or A/V device in some capacity.

I love WriteRoom. It does exactly what it says it does, in a very elegant and pleasantly minimalist way.

I'd love to know more about how this keeps beer fresher than traditional bottling. It's a cool concept, and I love the lower environmental impact of the bag. I'm not sure how I feel about calling it "Keurig for Beer" because to me that implies that some countertop brewing is taking place, which doesn't appear to be the case. :)
