Hey Product Hunt 👋 Mike here, Head of Labs and co-founder at Zapier. We know remote work comes with new challenges. Over the last 8+ years, we've grown Zapier to 300+ employees across 17 time zones. And along the way, we've discovered effective ways to collaborate without an office. Zappy is a cornerstone tool that increases the bandwidth of our team's communication. It's an all-in-one...

When you're spread out, communication gets harder. We built Zappy to help. Our remote team of 300+ uses Zappy daily to share annotated screenshots, GIFs, and recordings in just a few clicks. Today we're releasing it for free.

This is really exciting to me. It's a huge fundamental shift in how the best apps get built on Zapier. Remember when iOS 1 only allowed webview apps? Then Apple opened up and allowed native apps? Thats the magnitude of this change, from a developers perspective. You can now build Zapier apps fully in code, locally, with tests and libraries, versioning, and collaboration using our new CLI.

I spent the last year+ building this alongside @justindeal, @smbriones, and github/stevemolitor and we're very happy to see this finally ship today. Before, Zapier was only 1-to-1 integrations which limited it's power. Multi-Step Zaps open up a huge array of more useful Zaps like... - looking up data inside other apps to use in the workflow - if an item isn't found when looking it up, create it...

Thought: before about 20 years ago, the phrase "Where are you?" was really never asked.

Thanks for submitting this @rrhoover (and the kind words)! I built this on our Dev Platform (zapier.com/developer) in about 5-6 hours over the last 2 days. If anyone has ideas for more triggers/actions let me know. :) Personally, I really want to add a "New Mention" trigger for brand/name notifications but need some support for it on the API to do so. Is this interesting to anyone else?

@datarade Reddit Alerts and similar will always have an edge over what we provide because they can perfect the UX for the use case. In exchange, we'll cover more apps (350+) and a common pattern for connecting others like RSS mentions, Hacker News mentions, Mention.net, etc.

I dig the pixelation effects and thought the on-boarding with their "team" was really effective. Also interesting to see that you can't "upload your phone book" to find matching SMS contacts at least not on Android. Possibly in response to all the brouhaha around Snapchat doing the same.
