I usually start with a quick outline to organize my main points and flow. But sometimes when I'm really inspired or on a roll, I just jump in and start writing, then go back and smooth out the structure later. I think mixing both approaches depending on your energy and the piece works well! The key is not getting too hung up on the outline and allowing yourself to explore ideas as they come.
