Pilot & indie dev, privacy-first Macapps

About

Pilot. Airline founder. Accidental developer. I build privacy-first Mac apps under Ultimate Clarity, software that does its whole job on your device and never phones home. It started with Clarity: my 73,000 photos were chaos and I didn't trust any existing app with my data. 178k lines of Swift later, that became a small studio with two apps on the App Store. Launching now: Privacy Scanner, it finds the hidden PII, metadata, and AI "made by AI" markers in your files and strips them, 100% locally. Timely with the EU AI Act's Article 50, which starts applying August 2. One rule for everything I ship: your data stays yours.

Privacy Scanner - Find hidden personal data and AI markers, all on your Mac

Privacy Scanner audits your files locally for hidden personal data and AI-content markers. It finds personal IDs from 25 countries, GPS, camera and author metadata, and reads AI markers like C2PA Content Credentials. Embedded metadata, not pixels. 100% local: no cloud, no account, no network. Scanning is free, no limits. A one-time $9.99 unlocks fixing: strip metadata, block out IDs, clean exports, signed reports. It never silently strips AI provenance. EU AI Act Article 50 applies August 2.

If I were an MEP: Two things the EU must do in 2026 to save European startups

If I were a Member of the European Parliament, I would ask one question before supporting any new technology policy:

If a government outside Europe restricted our access to frontier AI tomorrow, how much of our technological future would still be under European control?

Does launch timing work differently for leisure products?

Most launch advice favors weekdays because traffic and visibility are higher, but our product belongs more naturally to people s leisure time. We thought users might be more willing to engage during the weekend, even if the overall reach is lower.

For anyone who has launched an entertainment, reading, gaming, or creative product: did you find that higher user intent could compensate for lower weekend traffic?
