A while back we launched @Wordware and broke Product Hunt during our launch.

We're here to share bits of wisdom from our launch strategy, answer launch questions you may have, and even help point you in the right direction for the launch day!

I support structured, high-value discussions nobody wants forums filled with spam and self-promotion. But here s the issue: understanding what qualifies as valuable.

Product Hunt s updated guidelines push for original, engaging, and non-replicable content. Makes sense. But when posts disappear without clear reasoning, it creates confusion.

• Where s the line between sharing insights and self-promotion?

• What defines a post as high-value in this new system?

• Why not offer feedback instead of outright removals?

Stronger moderation is great if paired with transparency. Instead of guessing what works, clearer guidelines and examples could help everyone create better discussions.

Unlike other social media platforms, I perceive a lower level of "centralization of power" on Reddit (such as in the comparison of X Musk, IG, FB Zuckerberg, which are starting to become politically tinged).

I'm starting to see this place as a more reliable and balanced source of information, where discussions can be held at a high level, perhaps also due to sometimes stricter moderation.

Social Media and Marketing Updates

• Instagram: Testing DM upgrades, a dislike button for comments, and Testimonials in Partnership Ads.

• Twitter / X: Launched Grok 3, but Elon jacked up Premium+ from $16 to $40/month. X users are upset 150% hike for AI perks and priority posts? Cancel culture s hitting the platform hard.

  YouTube: Rolling out Veo 2 AI from Google DeepMind for creators. Video generation s about to get a sci-fi glow-up on YouTube.

• LinkedIn: Added Email Open Rates and Sends to Newsletter analytics.

• WhatsApp: Testing social media links in profiles and an AI chat tab. Meta s turning it into a mini-social hub. WhatsApp Beta feature lets you customize voice message transcriptions.

• Digital Marketing: Meta s AI ad push is the talk of the town automated campaigns are a marketer s dream.

Over the past year, I've noticed how makers have taken to creating directories on a large scale.

Since I am also thinking of creating one, I would like to know from owners or people who have experience:

I am trying to gather tools directly developed for the Product Hunt platform that could possibly help you with the launch.
This is what I have gathered so far.

• Advanced PH Scrapper extracting data of launches into the charts

• Hunted Space calendar & stats for upvotes, comments, upvote speed

• Launchgrid something like a database of launches from PH & HN

• Launchpedia  kits (PH resources)

• Product Hunt favourites  extension for bookmarking

• Product Hunt trending overview of successful launches (ranking)

• Product Wars  upvotes, comments, speed stats

If you know more, feel free to share.

A few days ago I saw some posts here about:

the number of discussions is decreasing,

sometimes they are approved later,

that there is "other community growth" I don't know what was meant by that and I'm just guessing.

I tend to just get an idea, and try to use AI now to get a basic framework. Then after kinda aim to get the core functionality down before moving towards UI and Design...however I often get stuck once it's on UI design as I can never get it the way I like.
As I try to add more features I kinda get lost in the code and then break other things and eventually either abandon the app or simply decide to keep it super simple at the expense of features.
Does anyone have any recs or process that could help in my app making journey? TIA!!

I ve been playing around with it, and it s wild how fast it spins up a full-stack app from a prompt. But I m wondering:

• How well does it generate code for real-world use?

• Any prompting tips to get better results?

• How does it compare to others like Lovable?

Also, do you think tools like Bolt (full app generation) are the future, or will the Cursor-style coding assistant approach win out?

Would love to hear from anyone who's pushed this beyond a test project!

Lately I realise that I use AI to automate stuff etc, but when it comes to growing products that I built or my social presence, it does not help me much.

Like, there are probably a BILLION tools for AI-powered content creation and blah blah blah, but they haven't really helped me generate any meaningful content. So, I always end up writing the stuff I want myself, cause they are just better than the AI tools create.
