Advertise your business for $1
The idea is simple. Simply share your business, platform or service for $1 or more and get the backlinks.
All the money will go into a housing project for the homeless, whilst providing training to give them purpose and help break the cycle of homelessness, as a byproduct of sharing your business online.
I started this project by trying to help someone I spoke to who was homeless. I tried to help him by engaging with the many charities and institutions that are supposed to help people in this situation. He wasn't on drugs or drinking. Just had some bad luck. Despite this, all the services I spoke with were useless and, if I'm honest, seemed only to be interested in the money aspect.
It took me 18 months, nearly 75 letters and emails, and countless phone calls to finally secure him a home. He got put with a heroin addict who robbed all of his stuff and trashed his room. He was, again, homeless. What made it worse was that because he was classed as only just being made homeless, he was put at the back of the queue.
That's when I realised the system and the safeguards meant to protect and help were useless. That's not to say all the charities are useless. There was one in particular, but they were stretched so thin that they struggled despite wanting to help.
So that's when I decided to start this.
My aim is to raise 1M in 2 years by giving people a platform to write a message and share their business, whilst having some fun along the way.
