I built a breathing app that collects zero data. Is that a real differentiator or a nice to have?

I've been building Breathings, a guided breathing and sleep app, and ran into a question I keep coming back to: does 'we collect zero data' actually move the needle for users, or is it something people say they care about but don't act on when choosing an app?

Most players in this space (Calm, Headspace, Breathwrk) lean on large content libraries and subscription models. I went the other direction: lightweight, fast access, customizable sound mixing, and no data collection at all.

Curious what this community thinks. For wellness and mental health apps specifically, is privacy a genuine acquisition lever, or does it only matter after someone's already using the product? Would love to hear from other makers who've tested this.
