It highly depends on your business. If you do the audience research, you'll see what social media they prefer. Those will be your perfect channels. You can't harvest apples off the orange tree:)

Depends on what you want to do with your life. If you want to be a doctor, hell yes it's necessary! As far as IT goes, however, I think no educational institution is adaptive enough to be able to catch up with the tempo things are changing here.

Great qestion! I work for a startup because I don't see myself working anywhere else. I work for the idea, not for monetary compensation. - I express ideas freely - I don't deal with corporate culture, gossip, or plotting - I learn quicker than anywhere else - Everyone on a team is working towards a goal, not to just get paid

Ideas are easy, they come in 1$ per kilo:) What to do with the idea is a bigger question IMHO:) To turn an idea into a startup the minimum requirement is to take it through the idea validation funnel; and the funnel depends on your starting point: connections, SM audience, specifics of your idea, etc...
