About

Working as an English teacher at a training institution in the fast-paced city of Shanghai, I constantly witness the severe toll that high-stress urban environments and disrupted sleep schedules take on my students, my colleagues, and myself. I realized that brute-forcing sleep with melatonin or fighting through the day with caffeine wasn't the answer. Driven by a passion for neuroscience and Dr. Andrew Huberman's teachings, I taught myself iOS development to build the tool I desperately needed. Circa Accord is an indie project born out of a genuine desire to help modern urbanites reclaim their energy and focus through natural, biological alignment.

I learned Xcode to build a sleep tracker with AI psychological coaches.

I want to share a project I ve been pouring my heart into for the past few months: Circa Accord.

The Backstory

Living in a hyper-fast-paced urban environment, my daily routine was completely broken. I was constantly trapped in "revenge bedtime procrastination." I tried almost every sleep and habit tracker on the App Store, but I kept running into the same issue: raw data wasn't enough to change my behavior. Seeing a beautiful chart showing I only slept 4 hours didn't stop me from doom-scrolling the next night at 2 AM. I realized I needed psychological leverage, not just analytics.

So, I spent my evenings teaching myself iOS development to build the exact tool I needed.

Beyond sleep tracking: Build sustainable habits with personalized AI accountability

Most sleep trackers are built to make you feel good about failing. They give you a soft nudge when you scroll TikTok until 3 AM and tell you to "forgive yourself and try again tomorrow." I got sick of that.

Teaching in the hyper-competitive, high-stress environment of Shanghai, I saw firsthand what chronic sleep deprivation does to the brain. I realized that raw data and pretty charts don't fix broken habits. Psychological leverage does.

So I taught myself iOS development and built Circa Accord. It s not a cute habit tracker. It s a circadian protocol that uses neurobiology and unapologetic accountability to force discipline.

The setup is simple:

To fix a broken sleep schedule, do we actually need to be bullied?

Self-compassion isn't fixing your 2 AM doom-scrolling. I'm building AI coachesfor a sleep app and need to settle a debate: What actually breaks bad habits?

> 1. The Drill Sergeant (Don): No excuses. Brutally tells you that you are actively ruining your tomorrow.

> 2. The Gentle Supporter (Linda): Tells you society is stressful, take a breath, and don't feel guilty.

> 3. The Cold Scientist (Steven): Emotionless. Shows the exact cognitive drop caused by your screen time.
